Vintage Wedding Fair Hair

A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine put on a vintage wedding circus with The Hurly Burly. I ended up doing a vintage hair salon there, it was so much fun! It did make me contemplate it for a new career direction, but brides scare me a bit.

Don't they all look beautiful! You can hire the Hurly Burly for weddings, they are great people and they sure know how to have a good time!

Le Jardin

'Tis the season to play in the garden.
This year I have been less than virtuous with regards to my garden, this is partly to do with all the work that's been going on at our house, partly to do with laziness. After the April showers passed I set foot in my garden for the first time in quite a while and was greeted by lots of thriving beautiful plants. It seems as though the less I meddle the better all my plants do! So here are a few photos of the pretty bits!

Now the house is *nearly* finished I may spend some more time in the garden...maybe in a few months I'll have some wonderful pictures of all the yummy veg I've grown, don't hold your breath though!

I-think-I'm-actually-going-to-die-a-chocolaty-Death By Chocolate Cupcakes

My friend Gemma is a bit poorly and really needed some help today, so I took some time out of my hectic bank holiday schedule to aide her in some serious chocolate cupcake making.
It was essential in order for her to start on the long road to recovery.
I bought a couple home for Him and Mother (she's visiting tomorrow)...but alas, they were too good...I cant move I am so full. But it's Easter, and gorging ones self on copious amounts of chocolate is that right thing to do. Right?

Can you look at these and not want chocolate?!
Gemma got the recipe from here. (we used twirl bites instead of dark chocolate chunks)

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and indulged in some chocolaty goodness.

Super 8 film (cheat!)

Oh iPhone, how I love you so.
The '8mm' app turns your videos into super 8 film, adding gorgeous effects to make your iPhone movies appear to be shot on old projection film. I fear this takes the heart out of it a bit...but it looks so damn good!
This is a little shot of our new view from our loft/new bedroom!

When we finally get a mac, I am going to start making some little films. I think you could get pretty arty with this app!

Watch this space.

Nail Art.

I've never really been one to get a manicure, or be particularly bothered about my (or anybody else's for that matter) nails.
That was until I discovered Pinterest. Uh-oh!
There are so many amazing ideas! I had to give it a go. So here are two of my attempts (I do apologise as these are no way up to the standard of some of the posts I've seen!)

1.Ultra Violet tips on Grey
2. Parma Violet and Mint

These are some of my favourite that I found via Pinterest.
Grey and pink nails.
Zooey Deschanels amazing nails!
As see on Zooey Deschanel

Roma

Hello All! So last weekend I went to Rome.
 It.Was.Incredible.
Here are a few of my snaps from the trip, I didn't get as many photo's as I would have liked but everything was just far to interesting to take my eyes off.

This was the view from our apartment window, there was a beautiful market just at the end of the street.

Luke making authentic espresso.

Mmmmm breakfast, us making up for the copious amounts of pizza and wine.

The flower market

So.Much.Pasta.

The 'Colly'

The wonderful girls (on tour) lunging outside the Pantheon.

I cannot recommend Rome highly enough. Everything about it was perfect, the people, the company, the food, the wine. Perfect.

Spring has Sprung

I have been very dubious about using the term spring...with days so unseasonably mild that taking off your jumper was OK in February and the daffodil's showing their happy little heads over a month ago the words "Spring" and even "Summer" were starting to be thrown around. I was not having any of it, it was wrong to use these word so early in the year and we are all bound to be left with bitter cold disappointment when the late February snow comes and shatters all of our great expectations for an early Spring and even earlier Summer.
But now it is March...so it's OK!
We've been really trying to make to most of every sunny day, and here in Brighton it's been beautiful!

The lovely Hove beach huts.

We found a great new walk just out of the City and there were lambs..too cute.

A very good friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks and her hen party is at the end of the month. She has decided on a WW2 theme, which I think is fantastic! We are having some work done on the house at the moment so every penny counts, so this meant that I had to get my creative juices flowing and make my fancy dress. First things first...what to go as?? After hours of trawling the internet I settled on 'Army Pin-up'. So using a pair of old mans trousers (perfect green colour) I fashioned a pencil skirt and slightly risque top (it is a hen party after all!!), I'm really happy with how it came out and cant wait for the night! So along with some red lips and victory rolls I'm ready to go.
I'll put up a victory roll tutorial later in the week :)

Then I went for a few days on the Isle of Wight and saw all my favourite people...

This is Claire, she is one of the most amazing people I know and my best friend.

My beautiful goddaughter Lilly trying to reach the sun.

The wonderful Rose and her new bestie Billie

Leaving the Island there was some working going on in the sea, it reminded me of Battersea Power Station.

Now it's Spring I can start to appreciate the beauty of Brighton again.
I love it!!

Happy Spring everybody
