Out and About in Brighton

We're think of leaving Brighton, nothing personal, but we feel we've out stayed our welcome...nothing has gone wrong but we're ready for a new adventure. With this in mind we have been trying our hardest to make this most of living in this awesome city. It is a very cool city with lots to see and do.

As part of Brighton Fringe Festival the covered the clock tower in ombre T-shirts. Very cool.

It's mackerel season again, which means a free full fridge!

My Hubs caught a whopper!

We finally got to use the portable smoker that my Nana got us  for Christmas a couple of tears ago, SO good!!

We had left over Dewberry Liqueur that we made for the wedding, so we obviously had to make cocktails with it!

Yeah we did!

This photo makes me laugh. a lot. It's normally me pulling stupid faces and him with the blue steel.
Here we are at the No Fit State Circus....so so good, I've you ever get the opportunity, GO!

So, we got married!

I have not written on here for a while, I kind of lost my way a little and wasn't really sure what the aim of this blog was. I don't really think I want to achieve anything with this blog, I'm going to use it as a journal, to look back on and smile about.

....................

One thing I really have to smile about is the fact that I married my best friend. I don't have enough words in me to describe the extreme joyous mix of emotions that our wedding day gave me. It was the best day of my life. Ever. Fact.

Here are a few photos from the days leading up to and our wedding day.
(some photos have been stolen from my friends Instagram.)

Us getting very excited on the boat on the way to the lovely little Isle of Wight (where we got wed)

Not the most flattering photo, but a lovely memory of waking up together on the morning of the wedding.

The wedding ceremony at The Apple Farm.

My Pa and I ( and a lucky gust of wind that made my dress look awesome!).

Just arriving...I was SO nervous at this point! I literally didn't stop shaking for about 2 hours!

This one's going to be for the thank you cards!

Getting married to my sweet, kind husband was the best decision I've ever made. People say that getting married doesn't change anything, but I don't think they could be further from the truth. I feel complete, like, more complete than I felt before. There is a sense of security that I can't describe but I can just feel it. I feel like I'm a member of a special 'married club'...I know, I probably sound like a bit of a moron, but I guess I'm still in that honeymoon period, I just really want to make sure that I always remember feeling like this and why I feel like this.
Moon, I love you.

p.s Thanks to our lovely photographers Sacco & Sacco for setting up most of these photos, I will put their photos up soon (they will be a million times better than these IPhone shots!!)

weddingy things

I went to a wedding fair on Sunday, and it was actually pretty good! I never thought I'd say that, but now I can check that box and carry on with my life. The main thing that attracted me to this wedding fair in particular was the venue - Battsea Arts Center - and it didn't disappoint, beautiful mosaic floors, domed ceiling windows and stained glass, it was pretty beautiful to say the least.

The fair was called the Miss Vintage Wedding Affair and it was full of beautiful vintage lace, bespoke handmade stockings, tea cups that doubled up as wine glasses and lots of lovely vintage treasures and treats in between. My dear Rose travelled up from the Isle of Wight to play with me and to make it an extra special day out we had our hair and make up done by the wonderful Lucy at Hair That Turns Heads. We then spent the rest of our time there playing in the photo booth that WeNotMe set up, needless to say we were happy bunnies and left with a smile on our faces.

I was too busy having fun to take many photos, but here are a couple the Rose and I managed to capture.

Grandad...

I LOVE my Grandad, he is the most handsome, funny man. It absolutely kills me watching him get old and becoming a shadow of the man that I  knew from my childhood, but he is still there - and occasionally you catch that sparkle in his eye, and my! what a sparkle it is! I think these are a couple of my favourite photos. ever.

Another little trip...

We had a lovely little trip to the homeland, celebrated birthdays and un-birthdays and generally had a super time.

Family time is the best time!

Merry un-birthday party

Snorkelling with style!

This is where we live

I had a little 're-jig' of our living room today, hiding things, displaying others. I think it looks nice.

I can decide whether roses look better dead or alive...?

What a Week

Wow, so what a couple of weeks it's been. We had a wonderful valentines day with lots of coffee and quality time....
Then we go broken into. Not cool. This is why I have not posted for ages...our laptop was stolen. I'm not going to really go into it but we got our car back, our house wasn't trashed and we weren't hurt, so it could have been a lot worst. The worst thing is though the feeling of your own private space being invaded and violated. I hope that this never happens to anyone else that I know because it's horrible!! So make sure you use a "dead lock" as well as a yale....really please do as this makes it a lot harder to break into.
The builders are in to that means we're up at the crack of dawn, but it's very exciting. When it's all finished and beautiful I may post about it...but in the meantime my "Home Sweet Home" board on pintesest is expanding out of control.
My creativity has been put on hold as my sewing room has been taken over with house junk, so here are just a few pictures I've taken over the last couple of weeks.
